[Mod-Post] Applications Round Two: Regular House Claims and Single Character Claims

Which claim are you applying for?

After much careful thought, I've decided to remain House Toland. I really wanted to go for Dustin of Barrowton, which is my second choice, but the intriguing position Dorne holds at this point in the timeline presents a wealth of interesting RP and storytelling opportunities. My third choice will be House Magnar of Kingshouse.

Why do you want this claim?

I would be lying if I said I wasn't dearly attached to House Toland at this point. I've been playing them for almost two years, and over that time I've slowly gotten a feel for their place in Dorne, and in Westeros. Being in close proximity to Sunspear and a fellow Salty Dornish house, they can be either loyal lapdogs or a handful of nettles for House Martell, and I would love to play on this aspect with a family of new characters. They finally have a port it seems so I won't have to make the acquisition of one my first point of business- and for that, I thank the mods.

Having been just accepted into the fold, Dornish stability teeters on a ledge- will the inhabitants accept the Targaryen dynasty simply because Martell takes one to bed? House Toland has a somewhat famous relationship with Aegon the Conqueror, resisting his dragon and playing him for a fool. Their sigil remains an offensive mockery of the Targaryens, and an attitude of disdain runs deep through the family lineage. Whoever leads House Toland at the start of this game will have an important role in determining Princess Daenerys' opinion of her new home, and thus the Targaryen's opinion of their new kingdom. I'm not one to stoke chaos, as Dorne is infamous for, cough, but I love playing a more politically-minded family, and have somewhat ambitious plans for this little castle atop the Broken Arm.

All of that being said, I may very well end up turning towards House Dustin if the spot remains vacant, as the North and I share a camaraderie known only by those living under feet and feet of snow. Playing a stony, no-nonsense northerner would definitely be a refreshing change of pace.

What are your previous experiences with roleplaying?

This is actually my first genuine role-play experience, having joined in January of 2016. I haven't always been incredibly active, but during the first year my presence was definitely felt, at least in Dorne. The promise of a fresh start is pretty exciting to me and I am more than ready to change it up- I say as I claim the same fucking house as last time.
