Why do modern MMO's feels like Single Player Games?

Nobody in a game is going to group with you to do a quest that they are not also participating in.

This is so untrue, I'd wager you haven't actually played FFXIV. At least not since patch 3.2. I see people asking for help on their leveling things constantly and others very quickly jump to help them out. You are correct in that some quests force you to play alone which I do agree is pretty dumb, but if someone is having issues with one of those, then they can still ask for help from a real human being who happens to have a crafter leveled who can craft them some gear and send them on their way. It might not be what someone usually thinks about considering MMOs and playing together, but what you have right there is an interaction between two real human beings that let one player get further than they were able to get on their own.

People are literally constantly helping out new players in FFXIV who are still doing main story quests.
