Funny story - topical with the election...
I attended a school board candidate forum at a jr. high, which started with a lengthy power point about the issues facing the district. The candidates then got up and gave individual statements, most of whom were conservative/republicans who emphasized cost cutting and eliminating waste.
No one ever turned off the projector, which stayed frozen on the last screen of the PPT. The third candidate got up and as he started he said the glare of the projector light was bugging him, and asked that it be turned off. A parent was sitting out in the audience near the projector and started to find the off button. As he did so the candiate started in by saying "I agree with my colleagues that this district is wasting taxpayer money..."
The parent couldn't find the off button and shrugged his shoulders. At which the candidate said "just pull the plug." The parent then reached down and unplugged the projector. The candidate said thanks and continued. I immediately noticed the school's assistant principal jump up and start toward the projector, but it was too late. As he turned down the aisle, a very audible 'POP' occurs, with the bulb blowing to smithereens. The candidate literally created waste at the exact moment he was railing against it. :) Really funny.
No, that candidate didn't win election.
