The modern WWE wrestlers should not call themselves stars.

If your point is that they’re not as widely known as past wrestlers or as recognizable as actors / people in the music industry than you’re right.

I’m not sure your age but it’s just a marketing term. I assume Vince and whoever branded the term is aware that the guys and girls aren’t necessarily stars but the term does it job.

People on the Internet call them WWE Superstars. I’ve heard shoot interviews with wrestlers that don’t or no longer work with wwe call them Superstars. I’m sure little kids that love it who it’s probably targeted most too say “when I grow up I wanna be a WWE Superstar!”

It also makes them seem more like the ‘big league’ they attempt to present themselves as.

WWE has so much other shit that I dislike that the term ‘Superstars’ is the last of my concerns. But when it comes down to it. It’s just pro-wrestling. It shouldn’t make you think this much into it.
