[MODPOST] Apply for the USA (read even if you aren’t applying)!

What is your current country?

None

How long have you played on the -powers subreddits?

About a year and a half on an another account.

How much do you know about USA, including its in-game history and real-life politics?

I know a lot about the United States as I played as a US successor state back when GP did that. I have a fully understanding about how congress works, how the executive branch works, the supreme court, the military, and foreign affairs.

How active do you think you can be?

I value quality over quantity, I can guarantee 3 well thought out posts a week, I will probably also get a 2iC.

How realistic do you think you can be?

Very realistic, as I believe that is what GlobalPowers is about. I won't do stupid shit like Donald Trump winning presidential elections....

I won't act rashly or irrationally, instead I hope to follow precedents set by previous US administrations and general US policy when it comes to foreign and domestic affairs. I will also throw in a bit of general unpredictability for the rest of Trump's term.

I won't get rid of the two party system or the electoral college or generally change anything too radically. I also don't especially like wars or direct conflict. I favour a more subtle approach through covert operations.

Why do you want to play as USA?

I want to play as the United States because it is the most influential nation in the world. I enjoy geopolitics and diplomacy. The United States puts me in the unique position of being involved in practically everything going on around the world. I would be heavily involved in foreign affairs and will try to influence or at least have a say in everything going on. In my previous playthroughs I enjoyed expanding my nation's interests and influence in the world and the most fun I had while doing that was as a US successor state, so it seems fitting to continue that here.

Another advantage of playing as the US is its vast resources in almost every sector, this allows me to be more creative and relatively less restricted in my foreign and domestic plans. Like the military probably needs a player all by itself.

Another thing that I enjoy about the US is its entertaining, yet flawed, political system, which allows much greater RP and story possibilities, in addition to much greater flexibility, I could practically RP two vastly different foreign policies after just one election. I enjoy politics and political plays, and love RPing a character's rise or fall.

Finally, I believe that as the US I can never be bored, probably even get overwhelmed, but that's what's nice in these types of games.

What plans might you have for the country?

  • I enjoy writing policies, so many new and exciting policies.
  • General politics, primaries and election stories, scandals, power plays, rises, downfalls... there's so much potential just here.
  • Military, although back in my day I used to really enjoy developing new fighters, tanks and all that general war stuff, I enjoy RP more, so although I am capable of handling military, I'd rather leave that to a 2iC.
  • A Post-Trump US
  • Many many international agreements
  • Heavily contribute and be involved in NATO and UNSC
  • Scientific Breakthroughs and discoveries
  • Development plans and large projects
  • Fund interesting ideas or works
  • Expand US Influence
  • Tackle domestic issues, such as racial tensions, discrimination, and other issues
  • More stuff I can't think of right now

Why should we pick you above all else?

I have the experience and commitment. I know how it feels to play a large and important nation and I strive to create good quality and interesting gameplay.
