Mohammed Salah photographed with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, infamous for torture, extra judicial killings and LGBT concentration camps.

The Egyptian team should have been briefed about the likely controversies about training in Chechnya. They could have been informed about Kadyrov ahead of time so that could make decisions based on real information.

Equally, Salah has a responsibility as a public figure to do some basic research. Once he learnt he would train in Chechnya he should have Googled the place in order to know where he was going and what the political climate is like there.

All this said, I'm sure Salah was informed by sponsors, FIFA, Liverpool and many others on Twitter and social media. He is not innocent and can not claim ignorance here.

It seems that both Salah and the Egyptian team are supportive of a Putin led Islamic dictatorship that runs concentration camps and torture camps.

It seems that the plight and abuse of homosexuals is something not of interest to Salah or the Egyptian football team.
