Most moms I personally know are like you. The unruly, idiotic ones stand out so much because they stand in stark contrast to the good ones in my life. I think that's the case with most of this stuff. I love reading the Rant posts here because, in print, its entertaining. Decency and common sense still exist, which is why there is a large community like this, as well as people like you, who all point to the dumbasses and say "geddaloadofthiswillya?!" It's not that there are more horrible parents than there used to be, there is just an increased boldness with which parents now seem to treat their ignorance and entitlement.
