Momona Tamada has been cast as Ty Lee in the ATLA Netflix live action adaptation

Yeah, I'm in the same boat with Zuko. My bisexual ass def also had a crush on Azula and Ty Lee but I fall hard for edgy boys with pretty hair (obviously I thought he was an idiot with his stupid ponytail but when it started to regrow after he cut it off it changed my world). The way I see it, our subconscious brains don't understand that the characters don't age like we do because in the world our brains are hardwired to understand that simply isn't a thing. I mean we've been sharing stories probably since we developed communication capable of doing so but until we developed novels and such it probably couldn't pull us in deep enough to actually fool us. And they're cartoon characters- you can kinda tell their voices are a bit less developed and their faces are rounder, but at the end of the day I'm pretty positive if I'd never heard of ATLA and somebody told me Zuko was 25 I'd believe them. So because of those two things your brain just kinda subconsciously ages them up for you because it has no reason to think that's not how it is.

So all in all, I think my 21 year old brain still thinks Zuko is cute because it legitimately thinks of Zuko as forever in my age range and probably will until I'm like a real adult. And then I'll simp for silver fox Zuko probably idk. Pretty sure when I watch the live action show it's gonna be like watching all these cute little children play my favorite characters as they were when I was the same age, but it'll still feel like the original character is "really" my age.
