Moms of Reddit, what do you know about your child that you will never tell to him/her?

As a father at Reddit, I know this:

  • My wife and I were having huge difficulties in our marriage
  • In therapy, she said she wanted an abortion
  • I said I hoped she wouldn't have an abortion, I would find that devastating.
  • And she gave birth to our second daughter
  • about a year later she separated
  • during the divorce court psychologists recommended giving me 50% physical custody of the children
  • when the courts granted that, she moved immediately to another state
  • I followed as soon as I had a job, about 9 months later
  • she consistently harassed me and refused my parenting time
  • the courts would admonish her but do nothing
  • she waged a constant campaign of hatred against me to our children
  • she would not let me take the kids on vacation to our home state where my mother lived, where the kids had other relatives on my side of the family
  • she did not let me take the kids to see their grandmother in a hospital when she was dying
  • when I was twice hospitalized for a week for open heart surgery to repair a congenital heart defect, she would not take the kids to see me
  • on my weekends with the girls, she and her new husband would by football tickets or arrange for parties and tell the kids they were invited but they had to ask me
  • eventually the kids would not want to come with me on my weekends -- she did nothing but say she could not make them come, even though of course, that is not what she would tell them had they refused to go to school.

I haven't seen my children in three years. I text them, send them letters, and so on.

Anyway sexist OP, I would never tell my daughter her mother wanted to abort her. Well, looks like I'll never have the opportunity anyway. But even if I did, I wouldn't tell her.

She's a wonderful adolescent now, or so I hear.
