Monday Funday - Free For All

Hello, oh you want me to start? Oh ok. My name is clc1076, or you can all just call me escapedTexan. I'm a shoe addict. I can admit it. It's been 2 days since I last bought a pair of skillfully hand made, high quality footwear. I've been on quite the binge lately, actually. Which, is why I'm here. Back in September, I ordered a made-to-order pair of Nicks Handmade in Wickett & Craig Double Stuffed. Nothing too fancy. 8". Plain toe. The leather has serious pullup so what the heck, right? <nervously eyes the room>

Ah-hem. Later in October, totally out of the blue I just had to have something new for the 2022-2023 Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome entry deadline 1st week of Nov, so I bought a ready-to-ship pair of Nicks 8" Overlanders in 64 Walnut, smooth. Nothing fancy, just good old meat and potatoes. At this point I figured, hey, it's all been fairly reasonable, right? So to speak? <nervous laugh>

But then, in December, ohh have mercy the the boot monster got the best of me. Oh, goodness gracious. First, I really needed a good pair of black business casual shoes/boots. I was thinking it would be best to get something versatile. Something that would go with just about anything from jeans to chinos to slacks and work well just about anywhere, and high quality. Of course...So I picked up a pair of Trickers Country Stow Black on sale. I'm a sucker for toe art...moc toe, toe cap, wing tip, brogue, you name it. And well, the Trickers Stow is legendary of course. <seeks agreement, support>

And then just before Christmas wouldn't you know it the Nicks bug bit me again hard as ever as the elusive Horween Color 8 Chromexcel made a surprise appearance! Lord have mercy I had to do it I've been wanting a solid pair of handmade c8cxl's for a while and dangit, my weakness got the best of me so I called in and cancelled the MTO W&C DS order and resubmitted and order for a 6" MTO, single piece back stay/4-row stitch toe cap..I know, I know....I'm a sinner. I know! But it's essentially a C8CXL Americana with a black wedge. Cool & Comfy, right? <eyes the room with credulity>

Did I say I was a sucker for toe art on nice handmade leather boots? A:Y-e-s.... Did I say I also needed a natural/brown/tan colored bus casual boot as well? A: No.

Well that certainly didn't stop me from buying a pair of Grenson Fred triple welt in hand painted english tan that was on sale for 30% off.

Wait. This is Bootaholics Anonymous, right? AM I in the right place?
