You’ve misunderstood me. I didn’t say it’s a big deal, or that there was anything wrong with wanting to have someone else around. But asking for her brother to come along is, in my opinion, not the best way to go about doing that.

Dates have certain expectations. When you set a date dynamic then add a family member in the picture, the impression you give is that you’re very serious and are looking to get married. And if you’re looking to get married, you should maybe go the more traditional route, be upfront about it, and just go see her mahram in his home.

If you want a casual setting, you should go with an approach that creates a more casual dynamic. You can hang out with your siblings and invite the girl and tell her to bring her siblings as well... or something like that that basically makes it a more chill, laid-back dynamic.
