I might agree with your sentiment, that people should let people drink what they want and not actively do anything to interfere with their freedom of choice.

But casually ripping on people is the only thing more American than Budweiser and McDonald’s. It’s my right to make fun of someone and call them a hick, just as it’s your right to feed your kids McDonald’s every day and watch them become obese. And it’s your right to call me a homeless looking dirtbag, as long as you don’t interfere with my right to dance on my longboard while eating my own garden grown arugula from a recycled Amazon box that I turned into a snack container with mushrooms drawn all over it.

If you took every person that was offended or annoyed by people who rip on Budweiser, I bet a large portion of them do the exact same thing, ripping on another subgroup for the things they like, and are hypocrites. Kale? Hipsters? Basic bitches? Hot Topic?

There are some people who are annoyed with how much people make fun of “Gluten Free,” but in my experience, not that many, because those people aren’t thin skinned whiners and don’t give a fuck, because they have better things to do than defend some giant corporation that makes up 30% of their identity.
