Monsanto sued by former Kona coffee farmers for downplaying carcinogenic properties of glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup herbicide

anti-GMO shills anti-science fools

Please sir, allow me to state unemotionally what my position isinthis debate. I am not against GMOs. I think they may be an answer to keeping up with the massive overpopulation of our species and our food supply. I also believe that we should take time to properly test the safety of each gene modification done. Also GMOs are being pushed upon us for strictly profit gain and I think it proper to warn people that they are in use in products for sale, so they can decide for themselves if they wish to participate in this safety research.

My main worry, is that a company without scruples (Monsanto) are the main proponents of this technology and have put it's money into subverting our lawmakers desisions to it's own agenda. All I really want is to let unbiased scientists do the research independently of those on Monsanto's payroll. I just want safety for these people using these products.

When I first mentioned in a post about these concerns, a large group attracted me (the same ones attacking me here) for just mentioning my thought. Since then, I have read some of their references and sources they appear to be either biased or tradegroups with suspicious tres to Monsanto.

I think back to the drug No, I don't believe that, but I have noticed that every time that any time that Monsanto is mentioned here that the same people jump in to protect their favorite corporation! the first time that I posted a thought that occurred to me, that maybe it would be wise to label products containing GMOs and have had roundup sprayed upon them be labeled as such so that buyers make their own opinions to use the product or not. The immediate response was so overblown that it immediately screamed "Monsanto's hit squad" was attacking. I have read some of the material posted and find a commonality of their being from sources that appears to be funded by Monsanto or it's Subsidiaries. True, I am rather paranoid about huge conglomerates that subvert our politics with tremendous campaign bribes contributions and say they expect nothing in return. Me thinks you protest too loudly. I don't know whom I have quoted here, but it seems to describe accurately your overreaction to Monsanto criticism.

It reminds one of the drug thalidomide, that caused horrible birth defects, but was denied by it's producers. The GMO products are being pushed into massive mono-culture farming that possibly could be even more harmful. I don't claim that GMOs are anything like that, but I strongly believe that our safety is paramount and I don't think a slower approach is warranted.
