[Monson] Sam Darnold shouldn't be a starting QB in 2021. I'm not ruling out the idea that he can be salvaged, but the weight of evidence that he can be a plus starter is MASSIVELY outweighed by evidence saying he can't be. Choosing to play the small side of that is reckless/desperate

I don't mind it. The Jets are rebuilding anyway - this year only serves to lay a foundation for what's to come. Trade away the #2 for a haul and start building. Hell, they could trade away #2 and still end up with Sewell, Waddle, or Pitts.

If Sam does well (with a new OC, HC, and offensive weapon) great - we can keep him or he'll have first round trade value. If he does poorly, fine - we weren't expecting to win anyway and now we'll have a top 5 draft pick. At that point we may have 3 1st rd picks in 2022 (maybe 4 depending on what we get for trading the #2 pick this year) and we use one of those to get a qb or set up a trade for Deshaun (after he has another horrible seasons with the Texass).

Wilson only really came into prominence this year. Who knows what QB will rise into stardom next year? There's no need to think that we have to take Wilson or Fields now or be stuck forever in QB hell.
