Montana Republican: Noah Was 600 Years Old When He Built the Ark, So Why Do Americans Need Retirement?

or social security

where the hell does he say this? He mentions nothing about basic income to seniors (what you are calling retirement) instead he talks solely about retirement as saying "i'm done contributing and i'm going to florida to rest in the sun for the rest of my life." That's literally the definition of retirement he gives. And he contrasts this with Noah who as an old man does meaningful stuff. What role does noah serve there? clearly he's an example highlighting the argument the guy already made in the last paragraph.

FFS [for fracks sake] really guy

yes i need this "explained to me because it's very clear that's not what he's saying. Imagine a democrat made this type of statement and breitbart.com said "crazy dems think..." would you believe it or try and find a semi charitable explanation? please show me one quote, any quote that says "old people have no need ever of income support" instead of...you know...the "you never get to just mail it in"

let's use a concrete example: http://www.nationalservice.gov/programs/senior-corps

This seems to be exactly what the republican means by what older people should do. Indeed if you just follow the link in the article that's actually what the guy says in a followup email: we all have talents and we need to put them to use. Tell me how that has anything and i mean anything to do with the economics of senior life?

urges college students to reject policy that favors savings plans and retirement options because, like Noah,

this is a highly partisan site editorializing and clearly taking the most extreme and unfair interpretation of what the guy is saying. It's like saying Obama "doesn't believe in american exceptionalism" because you can find a quote and railroad an unfair interpretation of that quote for your own purposes.
