The Monthly "Tell Us About Your Game" Megathread - September

I ran Amidst the ancient trees from the keeper's book last week twice with different groups. The first group didn't stop the cult, but found the girl. The reporter went insane but the rest were somewhat fine.....somewhat. Overall since they got the girl back and escaped with their lives, they felt it was a win, was a good time. But the second group, oh boy. One of our guys started the game with 25 sanity....at the start. Total party permanent insanity by the end. The girl was never found, one player gave up and shot himself, the other ascended to the strange indescribable place with the thing in the lake, and the other ran off into the woods screaming..... I guess he was the best off. this was the first TPK I've ever had in a tabletop RPG, and we all had a blast with it. Only in this game can failing be so fun. Good scenario, I recommend running it. spoiler
