Monthly User Story Megathread

1) Parents installed something called MyCircle that could directly control not only what website we visited but also tracked screen time across all devices and could shut them off at will. OpenDNS was also enabled to block even further. I’m 18, have a full time job, and am already looking at moving out. They still have this shit enabled for me.

2) When I came out as gay my parents took me to a HarvestUSA convention. For those that don’t know, it’s conversion therapy “through Christ.” They also forced me to go to church for three years after I said I didn’t believe in Christianity. I’d been going my whole life, but even after telling them I didn’t believe they forced me to go.

3) it should come as no surprise that certain shows were restricted. Some of them made sense cause of their religion (Christian) but two shows in particular come to mind. Fairly Odd Parents and Johnny Test. Their reason? They didn’t like how the parents were portrayed as dumb, constantly barging in when it didn’t matter, and too busy to care about their children’s mental health. Ironic seeing as how much they tried to force themselves into my life while not caring in the slightest about how unhappy I was.

4) They’re trying to make me instal Life360 when I move out. No way. Not gonna happen. In fact I’m probably gonna leave and never talk to them again. Hypocritical bastards.
