I use to be friends with one of these people. They had become fully indoctrinated in the anti-capitalist extremist ideology. What struck me the most was how entitled they acted, even though they were unemployed and practically homeless. I mean, most people who are homeless are so because of mental illness or because of extremely difficult struggles with addiction, but my friend was neither, he was just a complete asshole.

He grew up privileged, well-off, was university educated but had the biggest chip on his shoulder you'd ever seen. He was also a HUGE misogynist, which wasn't much of a surprise.

Anyway, the last time I spoke with him was after he broke up with his girlfriend at the time, she left because they had bedbugs in their apartment that they got from him always bringing home old used furniture and goods he's find on the sidewalk. So since his welfare check wasn't enough for him to live their on his own he just moved out. I only assume he ended up squatting with some anarchist group or some shit like that, but I'm not sure since I haven't heard from or about him in years.
