It isn't true though. And it's entirely beside the point any way. The issue is health system capacity. I don't know about every country in the world, but the U.S. has less than one million hospital beds in all hospitals combined. Now, there are makeshift facilities with beds being built every where, but one million beds is basically the capacity. When a virus puts 20% of people in the hospital and an non-inoculated population is going through a pandemic where 80% of people are expected to contract the virus, in the US that comes out to 60MM hospitalizations during this "season" of the coronavirus. That would lead to tons of people dying from non-covid illnesses and injuries. The virus itself might only kill 3% of people, and mostly those with vulnerable immune systems, but the hospitalizations can cripple the system which would lead to the death of many, many more than just Covid sufferers. That's the problem.
