What is the purpose of the "lol" at the end of your message? I've never been able to figure that out and the people I've asked have scurried back to some dark hole without answering. Is it supposed to intimidate me? It doesn't. Make me think you're much smarter that I am? It definitely doesn't. I have never been able to figure out what the trailing "lol" or "rofl" or variations thereof is supposed to mean. It conveys to me that the writer is a drooling idiot but I'm sure that's not what you intended.

I have tickets to Manhattan Beach, California for a week from today so I'm definitely not mad that I can't go on vacation. I've been working from home and airplanes for more than a decade. I've really enjoyed being home these past couple of years. My wife is making homemade pizzas for dinner tonight and we're sitting down as a family to watch Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
