More than 40 attorneys general urge Facebook to stop plans for an Instagram for kids

Maybe it's a cultural thing? In New Zealand, Most 12 year olds I know (I'm a teacher so I know a lot) have Instagram and Tik Tok - whether their parents know about it or not.

I agree kids don't need social media, neither do adults, but as I see it FB has already locked them in.

Facebook (the website, not the company) is definitely for old people... Millennials upwards.

And admittedly no i haven't had much experience with YT for kids as my own kids have very controlled screen time and if they are watching the screen so am I. Ie, as a principle they don't do screen time alone because I think they're too young - and I don't like the idea of being babysat by Netflix so i turn things like Daniel Tiger into a family activity.
