Mormon church targeted in new commercial after tax fraud concerns raised

it's interesting to be a non-mormon living in the salt lake area. when you first move into a community, they're very nice and helpful and will do whatever they can. once they find out you're not mormon and have no interest in becoming mormon, you're persona non grata.

Small town American here (kinda sorta near Utah).

We're Salt Lake Jr. with regards to Mormons. When I first moved out here 2 years ago, had to take a job with these people.

Had never met a Mormon before and thought they were the nicest people I ever met. However, being from Los Angeles, the motto: "there is no such thing as a free good thing in life" applied and I instantly became suspicious of them.

But they didn't try to indoctrinate me or anything.

So "liberal guilt" crept in and I admonished myself for thinking bad about these people.

After 6 months of working with them, they started to invite me to their churches and "singles wards" (am single) and that's when the "totally not mandatory, but totally mandatory" after work activities began.

I tried my best to be as slippery as possible, but apparently they've dealt with people like me before and they were always one step ahead of me.

Long story short they fired me.
