Mormons to drop Scouting as part of new global initiative

Found this in a different thread, figured it would be helpful here because you clearly have no understanding of this hundred year old tradition and are in fact preaching lies (which is kind of ironic considering you were concerned about lying in your scout oath by not believe in God).

The BSA's mission statement is this:

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

No mention of camaraderie with other males. Go back to 1910 and the original intent was "to teach [boys] patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred values." Again, no mention of bonding with males or anything of the sort.

Powell saw the Scouts as a means to promote an all-rounded education for young people – giving a sense of purpose, duty, patriotism and ability to work together.

Baden Powell never intended scouting to be some male bonding club or safe space for boys to be boys, it's always been about learning to make good moral choices and be a better person and the method he thought worked for that is by learning these outdoor skills and to get out into nature.
