Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread

hello guys, i am currently doing the reddit linear PPL routine. today was the BP-focused push day. i hit all reps that i needed to in the heavy bench press (5x5) but could not push one more rep out in the last AMRAP set. now, in this workout i also do 3x12 OHP (or i am supposed to). the last time i did 3x12 OHP was 10 days ago (i had to take a 3-day break from lifting due to a flu), in which i failed. i hit 11, 7 and 6 reps respectively (so i did not even come close). on my following OHP-focused push day, i also failed (5x5 OHP, i hit 5 reps in every set but only got 4 in the last). now, today i was supposed to do 3x12 OHP again. i was thinking that i could at the very least push to 12 reps in the first set, and a stable 8 in the following two. however, i completely shat the bed and performed even worse than last time (i could only hit 9, 6, 6 reps). i have been eating at a surplus for months and i get more than enough rest and my protein intake is fine. i also have no problem pushing even to the point of absolute muscle failure, so it's not about just persevering through the pain. this was my worst workout ever. i am clueless on how to proceed on this lift. it should be said that i have not yet eaten anything today, but i managed to hit all required reps on my other lifts (although some only barely ofc). but wtf should i do with the OHP? take 2,5kg off and try to hit 3x12?
