Did you mean to reply to my post, or did you want that to be in the general thread there?

I've only ever been in EABs, so I can't really speak to what the other half is like. I like being seperate, and on our own a little bit, and I'm comfortable that my CoC is EN all the way to the BDE level. As a Captain in the BEB, the senior rater for evals in an IN officer, so unless that EN CPT made one hell of an impact on the BDE he/she can kiss a top-block rating goodbye (source: BEB company commanders at NTC). That said, IME the BEB Sappers do better because of the opportunity to train alongside their supported units for breaching ops (at NTC at least). It's on the BEB BC to make the case to the BCT CDR though to make spending on BEB training a priority, so a lot of it really depends on the people in those positions.

I know ratings aren't the most important thing, but you've got to look after yourself because nobody else will (as an officer).
