I was in NYC about ten or eleven years ago when someone jumped/fell out of a building and hit the ground maybe 15ft behind me. They were very clearly dead, and their body had formed to the shape of the kerb completely, but everything was still... intact externally, with the exception of blood leaking from the nose and ears.

The police/paramedics said he fell about five stories, and that it was not unusual for there to be no splitting or tearing of the skin, even at great heights.

It was the single most gross thing I’ve ever seen in my life, and it’s an image that sticks with me even now.
