Dear OP:

Since it seems to matter, I'm a bisexual (polysexual? whatever, gender doesn't matter to me) woman. According to my genealogy and recent DNA testing, I am Germanic, English, Irish, Sardinian, Armenian, North & Sub-Saharan African, Spanish, and South American Indian with a peppering of Swedish. (Imagine being able to tell your racist family all this - so fucking satisfying). I'm deeply interested in the occult but have no religion otherwise. I enjoy taking long walks on the beach, reading poetry, and killing pixels for loot. Here's what I need to say.

STOP.

Stop acting like jokes don't have influence on people. Humor can be and often is used as a tool of influence. Stop acting like jokes don't help people cement their backwards views on the world and don't help bigots feel acceptance for those views. Stop acting like the internet isn't real people communicating with other real people. The internet isn't a fantasy playground where nothing matters because "it's the internet!"

Also, some jokes really need to be buried due to overuse, and 'fried chicken' jokes are definitely in that category. They were never funny, but even if they were, the funny would be long dead by now.

Reddit is the cancer of reddit. Stop standing up for shittiness. Bigotry needs to be addressed, because you don't get rid of a problem by ignoring it.
