Most Hollywood assistants still make less than $50,000 a year, report finds

I started a firearm business focused on helping minorities (BIPOC/LGBTQIA+) and liberals/leftist purchase their first firearms and get beginner/intermediate firearm training. I'm also planning on getting my FFL to better serve those communities.

My partner and I thoroughly discussed our finances before coming to an agreement that the loss of my income would be okay in the even my venture made no money.

Admittedly, I make less than I used to but more than enough to make it worth while as there's been an explosion of new firearms owners in the communities I cater to. But most importantly I have more free time.

I realize that my pivot was to niche field but previous relevant experience, timing, and a huge dose of luck came together. Not sure if this helps.
