Most people on Reddit automatically assume I'm male... I'm not going to correct them.

When I was young, using BBSes and web forums was a mostly male and nerdy thing to do. Even though nerds no longer exist as a socially ostracized group and the web is more egalitarian I still low key assume people here are male. I don’t make that assumption on Facebook, insta, or Twitter interestingly…. it’s something about the feel of long form posts and goofy pseudonyms on computers that takes me back…

Also, in what is an unfair stereotype, whenever someone’s post shows a lack of empathy or uses sarcasm that has crossed into “more mean than funny” I assume it’s a guy…not that women and non-binary folks can’t be assholes too!
