While I can fully appreciate your viewpoint, the issues brought up are beyond trivial and happen on such a regular basis that every time a post from this sub appears in my feed it's some manner of complaining. Be it the demogorgon skin looking like he was jizzed on, the lack of colorblind support, but most of all the god damn HUD. People were complaining before the release, during the release, after the release, and are still going strong.
Yeah, BHVR got a bit lucky but I won't disregard the fact someone genuinely poured a good about of thought into the theme of the game. Slasher focused, fast paced but not completely reliant on perfect reflexes, the "chase and capture" dynamic. It all flows into the overarching thing of "This is kinda like a slasher film, huh?" And it's damn good.
There's definitely issues. Bugs, hackers, toxic behavior, absolutely. Completely on board. But the level of outrage over the fact people have to look different places on their screen? Never in my life have I been so frustrated with a community. If it were strictly "The HUD is shit", fine, so be it. But that's not where it stops, it's "BHVR devs are fucking clowns, what is this shit?" and it soars to the front page with awards. I know I won't be missed, but this has genuinely driven me from wanting to interact with the sub.
The sheer level of bashing BHVR developers because HUD elements aren't in the right spot is the most childish thing I've ever seen and the fact nobody is willing to see that only illustrates my earlier points. I appreciate you responding with a level head, even if we don't entirely agree.
