Most “Straight-Acting” Gays Do Not Have Internalized Homophobia

You like what you like and frankly you don't owe anyone any kind of explanation. I am all for openness, inclusiveness, live and let live -- it's all wonderful and I am excited to see how the younger folks change the world.

That said, there is this narrative in some groups that if you aren't attracted to someone who is any variable, be it weight, age, fem/masc, even race, then you must have some kind of internalized homophobia/racism/misogyny/whatever-- like anything, people's attractions run the spectrum from very broad to very defined. I have seen an unfortunate trend of people being corned and told they are wrong, that something inside them is messed up and they should be attracted to X/y/z and they aren't because they need to fix something.

Sorry, but fuck that. The simplest philosophy for my life has always boiled down to "live and let live". I don't care who you fuck or how you fuck. I don't do deep dives and make assumptions about people because of who they fuck or who they don't fuck. If you are doing your thing and not hurting anyone (emotionally or physically) than keep at it and never feel the need to explain to people.
