The most vulnerable ones are also the ones unable to compete for resources.

Sadly, this is true. I wasn't trying to hoard anything, but when I went to the local grochery store just for normal weekly supplies I saw the panic. Was running low on hand soap just from normal use so needed some, saw the empty shelves, and got upset. When I found a few bottles on an end-cap that people missed what did I do? Bought the per-custom maximum, because I know that will disappear and if the panic lasts for a while I may not get another chance.

Next I went to the cleaner isle (running low on Clorox wipes and foot deoderizer), found empty shelves there too.... Noticed a unoppened box of lysol spray on top the shelf in the back (I'm tall, so I can see and reach it better than most, so of course i grab the box, rip it open, and take my per-custom limit, because again I may not get another chance for a while if the panic continues and I can use that for my stinky shoes and general cleaning at least.

The dumbest thing is when I went to see if they have a larger size blood pressure monitor cuff (I'm a large guy with high blood pressure, my current cuff is too small for my arm), all of the blood pressure monitors were gone too. What in the hell are people panic buying those for?!?

Almost could not find distilled water for my c-pap machine. Could not find the wipes I use for my toddler son. Certain foods running low. Toilet paper completely out. It's insane.
