A lot of people are not really into that, and would prefer to stay in their country to defend the principles they believe to be American, and not those of GE, etc. Are they bad people for not voluntering to be Uncle-Sams-LLC's Bulldog? Some people don't like playing fetch for Big-Brother
A Civilian having the audacity to pursue the ability of responsibily defending themselves and their community... this has someow offended OP. They being proud of this basic ability is somehow more outrageous! Apparently only Americans who have invaded other soverign nations should be allowed that pride!
Perhaps History was not enough for OP to understand why some Americans can be proud of the responsible armed civilians in this county, just like they are proud of the other armed individuals who happen to take a paycheck for it, in exchange for being treated like shit.
You joke about their lack of training, but lets be honest... how was the training of the local in Afghanistan or Iraq? Guess what... even that doesn't matter... the terrorist civilians are most likely to encounter have even less training... mass shootings by mentally ill terorist in the homeland are not done by special forces sent from Iranian labs. Did you see the last bunch in Cali? What about Boston? What about all the other pussies that sneak attack members of the public and try to scurry away. Not to mention all the home grown Mountain Dew drinking WWE fans having a bad day.
Unfortunately the whole "We'll fight em over there so we don't have to fight em here," didn't really pan out like the public was promised. If anything our invasions over there destabilized the region, and world, even further than it was, into an environment that will breed even more generations of extremnist for centuries to come.
Honestly if a full scale invasion of our country from a foreign power ever took place, you would eagerly suck 1,000+ RUSSIAN dicks to be in a country like this, full of the people with the AR-15s and Don't Tread on Me Tattoos. For every paint ball team out there with a few AR's, you'll have at least a few dead commies... so suck it up butter cup and stay frosty, bc in a few decades, in some futre Idaho trench, the same people you're talking all this shit about, are the same corpses that you'll be finding much needed ammunition on ;)
