A mother and her children returned to the same beach 18 years later

I’m not particularly outgoing but I do talk to people, I’ve been rejected more times than I can count in several different social situations (not just bars) and I’ve never gotten a match on tinder or bumble. Look, I’m not some incel, I’m not mad at women because I’m not attractive, but telling people that “working harder” is going to solve all their problems is counterproductive. Like fine, if someone isn’t trying then ya, that’s good advice. But I’d be willing to bet that no amount of hard work will make most men look as attractive as the trans guy in the picture above. Is it fair? No, but life isn’t fair. However, telling people that life is fair and all they need to do to succeed is work hard (as if luck isn’t a huge factor) just leads to victim blaming. That’s the same “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality that lets rich people blame poor people for being poor, as if it’s a character flaw and not a result of the context they exist in.
