Motley Fool? Open your wallet to find out who the fool really is...

Motley Fool was invaluable to me. I took a flier on a very large, established company that was on the verge of collapse. They were down to penny stock territory. A new CEO came in and the company started getting a foothold to survive. Literally every day there was a new article in the stock's news feed from Motley Fool saying the company was a dog and anyone holding the stock was an idiot. Every day. For probably 2 years. The stock climbed from $0.05 to $5.00. One day that Motley Fool author changed his tune to "maybe X company isn't so bad." I took that as a sign to sell (really I was looking for an exit on the stock and it happened to coincide with this). That stock stalled out at $5 for years and is now only at $6.
