Mouse input lag test in Arma 3 engine

1) You can't compare your results to the other post's "results" or even to other games because the conditions aren't the same. Other (twitchier) games have much shorter "simulation processing" cycles that are completely disconnected from the graphics rendering subsystem.

2) Neither of you ran a clean Windows install with only Arma installed so God only knows what kind of load was running in the background interfering with results.

3) The entire processing chain from input device to monitor is completely different.

4) You are ignoring Arma 3's builtin "simulation processing cycle" (This is that single thread process that is responsible for checking what changed since the last update and sending the updates to the rendering engine) or the delay in getting those updates from the server. BI chose to lock the graphics rendering directly to the simulation processing. This obviously takes longer than if they were separated as is the case with other games Arma gets compared to.

5) Argo may use the same engine as Arma 3 but that doesn't mean it has to carry all the same sandbox baggage. BI could trim a good deal of unneeded code for a one trick pony like Argo without too much work. It may not be more than a few milliseconds but that's in every single processing cycle.

6) Human reaction time is on the order of 200 ms for visual stimulus so your PC is still twice as fast as you are.
