Moved about to new province 7 months ago, how much shit am I in for my vehicle registration, license, plates etc.?

If you are living in BC and driving a vehicle registered and insured in Alberta, you're pretty much not insured. If you were to get in an accident you would be totally screwed. So if you want to avoid that and are planning on spending any amount of time driving and living in BC, you need to get your vehicle inspected then registered and insured.

My cousin got into an accident with a guy who had his vehicle registered and insured in Ontario but was living in BC. The guy who caused the accident unfortunately died on the scene but was underinsured (because of not living where his vehicle is insured). My cousin didn't have underinsured insurance so now he has to sue this guy's estate because he needed copious amounts of surgeries and time off work.

Don't try to circumvent the system here when it could cost you millions. I know how shitty paying so much for insurance is but it's worth it if something were to happen.
