I moved to a new, big city to pursue my career, and have had a very hard time adjusting. My friend who is a photographer, randomly made a stop in my city and took pictures of me to cheer me up a little! The pictures came out last night, and I got a call for an interview this morning!

Hi! So many of the comments here that you're getting are telling you how beautiful you look. It's true, but let me try and say something different. Because I think one doesn't get to your age without having known for many years that you're beautiful.

What I will say as someone who was very close to another, genuinely gorgeous woman, is this is of course only one part of the human that you are. You are a human like anyone else, and your beauty won't insulate you from feeling all the normal human ups and downs. And some of them will be amplified because beauty comes with its own bundle of issues, something I really learnt from that friend of mine.

So what I would say, to the person behind the lovely face that you have to show the world, is this: You have done a courageous thing. It is not easy what you've done. I know this because I was an expatriate from my country for almost an entire decade.

After the initial "rush" of being on a long holiday wears off, it is very normal that you come crashing down to earth, and find yourself feeling very alone, and in a strange place, and somewhere where you now in a way have to define a new life for yourself.

The payoff for this? When you get through this, you will discover that you obtained some of the richest experiences of your life. Your world will be larger, and you will be richer, than you were before.

Congratulations. It's not an easy ride, but life wasn't meant to be easy. With all the challeneges, you will find rewards.
