MP receives rape and death threats after speaking against Andrew Tate

I agree that it's somewhat unhelpful, but I don't think that means it's untrue, or that someone on an online discussion board should feel obligated to tailor their rhetoric to what's 'helpful'. It's not helpful when I (as an American) moan online about how fucking stupid Trump voters are for example but it is true, and-more to the point-there's a line past which I think it's pointless to pretend certain viewpoints deserve the same respect as the views of normal people.

Given that Tate appeals mainly to middle schoolers (or those with the emotional maturity to match) I actually think there's value in expressing that holding these views makes one a loser. I think his audience is much less likely to respond to a reasoned, nuanced takedown than to the threat of social ostracization for being a loser.

Either way, I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to be kind to rape supporters.
