I wouldn't support political violence unless trust in/power of institutions are low enough that democracy going to fail. That isn't true in the country I live in or most of the world. I hope I'd recognize if my country was ending up like the Weimar Republic and adjust my actions accordingly. That doesn't mean I think political violence is automatically good in that case either, the likely effects would need to be carefully weighed. It's easy to do more harm than good even with the best of intentions.

There are lots of crimes that are morally wrong to some degree that I wouldn't put myself on the witness stand for without a good reason. If I got punched in the face by a drunk I probably wouldn't press charges either.

Ethics is much easier when you're thinking about what to do yourself rather than judging others. I'm more lenient when judging because I don't know their perspective and I'm never totally confident I'm right. Hence why I'm willing to have civil conversations about politics with my far right relatives.
