MRW I see all the anti-Trump protests on the news.

Let's be very clear- these are not protesting the results of the election. I can't speak for all, but Clinton supporters must accept Donald Trump as the new president, as decided by democratic election.

However, that does not mean we need to come quietly. These protests are not against the results, but instead against the ideals that Trump/Pence stand for. To some these may seem like naive demonstrations of bad sportsmanship- but their purpose is to band together and show that though we lost the election, our yearning for equality and love will not be foregone too. When the persecution of women, non-Caucasians, and the LGBT community is nigh, it's gatherings like these that enable us all to band together and show our support for each other.

Like-minded people in cities all over are peacefully demonstrating our frustration and distaste with the xenophobia and bigotry that is permeating society more visibly now than ever. Chants like "Not My President" are perhaps misleading- but make no mistake, the message of the majority by popular vote is that "We will not be silenced, and more than anything we will not stand by while others are oppressed"
