MRW I hear Google is apparently making a Netflix competitor

You can watch a decent range of shows with just one of those. I'm almost positive that the majority of media consumers out there aren't paying for all of them simultaneously. If you feel the need to subscribe to everything out there in order to get a decent range of material, then you quite literally need to go outside more often and spend less time glued to a screen.

I think you're just trying to justify why piracy exists through a sense of self-entitlement. "If I can't have everything for one low cost then it's okay to pirate stuff because otherwise I'm being taken advantage of by 'Big Business' and so I'm only doing this because it's fair."

If all you want is a decent range of shows, Netflix is great. If you want something more, then Hulu also offers quite a lot of free content made available by the offset of commercial advertising. If that's still not enough, then there's an actual plethora of content on YouTube and it's, what? 99.99% free? If that's still not enough, then sure, places like YouTube and even Amazon offer Pay-Per-View VOD, which isn't that bad when you consider that you're really only using those services every now and again, much in the same way of going to see new releases at the Theaters. On top of that, you could also utilize Amazon Prime in more ways than just one. The shipping service is fantastic and worthwhile for that alone. You can literally save money by using Prime as your main source of buying goods. There are also other benefits as well, with just one of those benefits being Amazon Instant Videos which can further provide more content to you. If all else fails, which is honestly kind of ridiculous, then you can always look into public television, which is free minus the initial small cost of necessary equipment.

You don't need to consume every single piece of media on the planet. If that's all there is to your life, then that's your own fault, especially as it's something that you can actually change at almost any given moment.
