MRW Republicans start turning on Trump

It's also the nature of modern American politics. Liberals have used the "take the high road" and "be the bigger man" approaches for years and all it's gotten us is a government that is dominated by conservatives from the top to the bottom. We get our ass kicked in the Senate, we get our ass kicked in the House, we get our ass kicked in gubernatorial and mayoral elections, we get our ass kicked in midterms, conservatives have stacked most of the courts in their favor, and don't even get me started on how we've meekly sat on our hands and watched conservatives use gerrymandering and the electoral college take a steaming shit on the principle of democracy. We're so pathetic that just getting some centrist "liberal" like Obama or Clinton into the White House every other administration is seen as a huge victory. And even then, we almost never can get enough liberals elected elsewhere in the government to let them actually get anything done.

The saddest part of it all, and the biggest sign that democrats are just a bunch of fucking incompetent failures, is that most liberal ideas are actually popular and poll well. Like, really popular, far more than their conservative counterparts. But we're so bad at strategizing, so bad at finding people who can effectively espouse liberal views and excite people, so dreadfully abysmal at "playing the game" that we can't even win with a platform of popular ideas. It's like a kid running for class president on a platform of no homework losing to the kid running on a platform of adding an extra 2 hours to the school day. It's embarrassing.

And that just so happens to be what conservatives excel at -- playing the game. They fight from the disadvantage of having less popular views, but they fight dirty, they fight ruthless, they fight to win at all costs. And you know what happens? They win. They constantly say things that are far more mean and condescending than the comments you're replying to, but you never see them bickering at each other about how they shouldn't call people degenerate baby-killing libtards or delusional entitled snowflakes. You constantly see their politicians doing shady and corrupt shit like gerrymandering, taking bribes, violating the Constitution, obstructing and shutting down the government, but no one ever tells them to stop. Liberals give them a stern finger wag, which is about the most that we have a spine to do, but their voters don't actually hold them accountable. No, conservatives don't in-fight and make a fuss over professionalism and decorum, they just jump into action and do what needs to be done to win.

I don't like the idea either, for what it's worth, but the sooner we come to terms with the nature of the game, the sooner we can stop being pathetic losers that repeatedly get our asses kicked at every level of the government.
