Oh goddd. Wanna know how I "violated the laws of common decency"? Which btw my roommate said that exact same shit. Anyways. We lived in a studio apartment with a loft, I had the bedroom and his bedroom was the loft. We had one assigned parking spot which I used because I own a car. He does not have a car, nor did he when we lived together. He said I was a bitch for not letting him use my car at his disposal. He never put in gas, wasn't a safe driver, never locked the doors (we lived in downtown Austin, like it wasn't the worst neighborhood but our neighbors car got stolen while we lived there soooo at least lock my car doors, damn). Yeah but he would never help with gas money and I would drive him everywhere. We are from the same town so when I would drive him home I expected him to pay half the trip (which was not even $10) and he would say "but you were going to go even if I didn't go" but that doesn't mean it's free, if you're in the car, help pay for gas. It's not like I ever asked for gas money when he didn't use the car. He said it wasn't fair that he didn't get to use my car whenever he wanted and that it was his parking spot too. I said you don't even have a car, this would be a different conversation if you did. And he said but if your car wasn't there, we could rent the parking spot. Which lots of people do in the city but it was specifically in our lease that we could not do that so that argument was also stupid. Him and his girlfriend (who moved in and promised to start paying rent immediately but didnt pay for 5 months) had a cat that got ringworm from his parent's cats at home and they wanted me to pay the vet bills because I was "the only one who was affected by it" I had over 20 spots of ringworm in 2 months and it was miserable! I finally threatened to tell the landlord about the cat who was also there against our lease and they took it to the vet. Like if you don't want to take your sick cat to the vet because it's not giving you ringworm, you shouldn't have a cat! It was so stupid. They also let it do whatever it wanted. That cat is such a fucking asshole. And it would bring their used condoms down stairs because he is that disgusting that he can't just throw them away or flush them, he would just throw them on the floor and the cat would play with them. God he was such a gross roommate. He would come home from class, take off his shoes and socks right at the door and leave them there and then sit on the couch and pick his toes. Ugh.
One time I came home from class and for the first time ever saw him clean the apartment after living there months (I cleaned almost daily) and then to my horror I watched him spit on the floor and wipe it away with a kitchen towel which was then placed on the oven bar immediately after. WHY WAS HE SPIT SHINING THE FLOOR barf. Then after that he used the broom to actually sweep the kitchen table, the broom that sweeps the floor and cat litter and dirt and whatever else shit on the floor, just swept the table with it........ It was at that time that I was like oh my god no what the fuck are you doing and bleached like everything. I'm ranting now, I'm sorry! Haha. Anyways, I paid big money to break that lease and the friendship to go live with my best friend across town. It was much better there.
