MRW Woody Allen warns of 'witch hunt' over Harvey Weinstein

Okay.... here's where I think we can start to discuss my point.

Some people have views on sex where they can compartmentalize or separate emotion. To them it is a reasonable exchange. Good for them.

But for more pious aspiring actor/actress it's not so simple. With sex being part of the industry standard, or with wienstiems reputation they could feel like doing something they're uncomfortable with is the only option to advance their career.

So two scenarios:

  1. A producer uses his position as leverage as a sexual predator. He targets women and coerced them into performing sexual favors (not okay).
  2. An actresses uses consciously decides to use her sexuality to gain attention and favoritism a producer who can advance her career (okay by some, not by others).

Between the two there's all kinds of scenarios. You see no potential for gray? Who's being taking advantage of?

And on a tangent, it seems the entertainment industry promotes this kind of behavior. Power corrupts and when someone sits on a position like that i can't imagine it not tempting or changing them over time. In fact i find it a bit unreasonable not to expect bad things to happen.
