Exactly this, people just keep on throwing tantrums on how corrupt the politicians are yet in real life no one leaves a chance to get some added benefit. Like every time tourists get stuck somewhere due to some natural calamity or something, rates for hotel and food skyrockets. Heck even your nearest grocery store will fool you given the chance. So instead of bitching around, let's try to be honest and compassionate in real life and be a bit sensible when voting. There isn't much required to be happy. P.S.- stop getting wet thinking about other countries, every country has some sort of problem, either social or economical or natural, utopia doesn't exist.
