Mueller May Have Been Illegally Appointed to Job, Legal Expert Says

Rosenstein hasn't recused himself

Exactly. But he did write the memo recommending to Trump that Comey be fired.

Mueller's whole investigation is about Trump unjustly firing. So how can Rosenstein supervise Mueller impartially? Rosenstein wrote that Comey be fired, before Trump fired Comey.

Comey very specifically didn't break the law with his memo, because they weren't official FBI memos or communications.

This is as bullshit as Trump saying that his Twitter isn't official presidential communication, except when it is. What determines what's an official memo? Comey wrote the memo, and he leaked it. It's an official memo from Comey.

Appearance of conflict is only there if you assume that friendship and donations are absolute proof of complete loyalty

Isn't that exact assumptions you're making in determining Trump's collusion? What objectivity do the lawyers have when they come from Mueller's own private practice? What objectivity do the lawyers have when they represented the Clinton Foundation in its dealings.

There are very few high profile qualified lawyers with experience in the things that Mueller is looking into. And since it's all connected at the top, it would be impossible to staff a competent team looking at matters of national security without at least some minor tie to a politician.

Bullshit. Plenty of public servants and lawyers in private practice do not donate tens of thousands of dollars to politicians, and work on national security matters. DC is chock full of them.

I trust the actual lawyers more than I trust the biased opinion piece of 1 lawyer from a notoriously conservative institution.

Pepperdine University is a notoriously conservative institution now? The only conservative ties this guy had was working as Reagan's lawyer and Bush's lawyer when they were in office, well over 30 years ago.

It seems awfully convenient that lawyers who recently worked for Mueller, the Clinton Foundation and donated millions to Democrats are clean and unbiased. But some guy who was a constitutional lawyer for the White House 30+ years ago is "biased".
