Mueller Says Paul Manafort's Plea Deal Void Because Former Trump Campaign Manager 'Told Multiple Discernible Lies'

Many of us, while not opposed to protests, just don't find them as efficient as other approaches. With the understanding that Trump is a symptom, an expression of a much larger underlying set of problems, I don't see how protesting in the street actually does actually all that much of the work actually required to unfuck this situation.

To fix this requires major transformations to not only the US federal government, but also 50 different sovereign US state governments, each wielding considerable direct power to shape the federal government. Add into this mix municipal and district-type level governments, each with their corresponding influence on the state governments. And this is limited only to purported government structures. It does not even account for commercial, private, and foreign influence on all of the above.

Some major developments to this effect occurred during the last US election, which saw a historically high voter turnout. Major shifts in state governments that saw power removed from most things Trump occurred.

But a lot of the "work" this requires is honestly kind of boring. It's not exciting, dramatic, doesn't involve marching, singing, yelling, or sign carrying. It's closer to your run of the mill office drone jobs in sales and marketing.

But take heart. There are a lot of boring, plain people out there, doing exactly that kind of work that probably won't make for decent live news footage but will see a measurable, authentic response from voters in the elections still to come.
