I was working two jobs at the time, which meant I was pretty much consistently exhausted. I could barely find time between the two to eat let alone do anything else. I'm a half Irish half African girl dating this Irish/Scottish guy who I'm out between shifts shopping for my mom & sister for Christmas. I'm in job A's uniform while over at job B looking for something cheap I can get with my employee discount with my boyfriend when this guy comes up, stands next to us then just starts watching us. At first I pretend not to notice him, maybe he isn't staring at us maybe he's just waiting his turn & I'm in his way? A few moments pass, it's clear that he's looking dead at us, I turn to acknowledge him, he starts speaking to me in Spanish, I don't understand a word of it so now I'm even more confused plus a little uncomfortable. I say "...I'm sorry? I didn't catch that" my boyfriend steps up & says "he says he remembers you from the other day, you helped him out a lot in your department, he's wondering if you could come over & help him again". I think I was more surprised that I didn't know my boyfriend spoke Spanish than anything else.
