Mutah is unfair to Muslim women.

Marriage for the purpose of fulfilling sexual needs is perfectly acceptable within Islam for both men and women, whether temporary or permanent. Marriage is by clear consent of two adult parties, and mutual satisfaction of one's spouse within a marriage, temporary or permanent, isn't being "used," it's a right for both parties. Let's not denigrate sex in a halal framework or shame muslims for having desires and seeking to satisfy them in a halal way when Islam doesn't do so. To do that would only encourage zina.

Imam Ali (as) is reported to have said, if ibn Khattab had not prohibited Mutah, only the most wretched ones would have indulged in fornication.

That said, it should be recognized that while the primary inclination to consider marriage for some individual may be to avoid haram and fulfill a need, they should still engage with the marriage in a full religious sense with all the obligations and responsibilities that fall upon them, including having a partnership that includes affection, mercy, support, etc.
